A Medieval copper alloy French Jetton the Pachal lamb type alluding to Bourges (c. 1373 - c. 1415 AD) - Charles V or VI. The general legend for this type is 'MOUTON SUI DE BERRI' (I am the lamb of Berry). This example reads 'MOVTN...BER'and as such it is a variant the one described by Mitchiner.

15th - 16th Century. Copper alloy, rather crude, French 'Tournai' type jetton. Length 26.4mm, Width 24.5mm, Thickness 2mm, Diameter 26.4mm, Weight 4.6g. Obverse: Possible three fleur-de-lys within a shield - French Coat of Arms. Inscription: Illegible. Reverse: A cross of three strands - Fleuronee within a quatrefoil in the centre enclosed by a tressure of four arches. Inscription: Illegible. Very worn and corroded condition also appears rather crude in design - could be a German copy of a French type jetton. Ref. Detector Finds 2, Gordon Bailey, Greenlight Publishing 1993, page 96-98…

A Post Medieval copper alloy Rose and Orb Jetton of Hans Krauwinckel II (master 1586, died 1635) c.1586-1635. The reverse legend reads HEIT.ROTT.MORGEN.DOTT, translating as "Today red, tomorrow dead" meaning, essentially, Here today, gone tomorrow. Diameter 20.1, thickness 0.4, weight 0.6 grams.

A worn Medieval to post Medieval copper alloy Jetton, possibliy a Mitchiner 732, 1497 - 1521, French. "SIT IIOIIIEII DOIII I II I" inscription. There appears to be a V in the the design, which Mitchiner decribes as: "V standing for Virgo and representing the virgin Mary".
The Jetton is 27.7mm in diameter, 1.5mm thick and weighs 4.7g.

A group of 12 or so late medieval jettons fused together into a sloping pile either through heat or, more likely, corrosion. One has become detached and only this and the visible faces at the ends of the remaining pile are identifiable, and none fully.
1. Bavarian type shield, Mitchiner p.337, with a fictitious legend. c1440-1493.
2. Probably Tournai. A cross ending in lys terminals within a tressure. Fictitious legend. Late 15th century.
3. Probably Tournai. Cross patty in a circular frame. Fictitious legend. Late 15th century.
The dimensions of the visible jettons are 26.4mm…
