A complete and worn Medieval silver penny of Edward I (1272-1307), minted at Kingston-upon-Hull. Class 9b1, dating to c.AD1300 (North 1991: 30, ref: 1037/1). Obverse: ED[ ]GL DNS hYB (unbarred N); Crowned bust facing with a trifoliate crown and wedged drapery (possibly a star on breast). Reverse: VILL/kyN/[GES/TO]N (unbarred Ns); Long cross dividing the inscription with three pellets in each quadrant. Diameter: 18.0mm. Weight: 1.19g. DA=12:12. North, J. J. 1991.
