A copper alloy English Jetton probably from the reign of Edward II (1307 – 1327). There are three lions on the obverse (Berry type 5) and a chequerboard on the reverse (Berry type 9). This combination is not one that was known to Berry, but there is another example on the database which looks to be very similar; BERK-5A3557. The jetton has a diameter of 18.22mm and is 1.16mm thick. It weighs 1.09g. There is a small oval indentation in the centre of the obverse which may be a deliberate stamp mark.
