A silver medieval penny of Edward I (1272-1307), Class 4d (North 1026) dating to c.AD1286-7, mint: London. Refs: North 1991: p.29; Withers and Withers 2006: p. 28-9.
The coin is now in two pieces, broken along a straight if rough break. It appears that the coin may have been folded, the subsequent break along the fold line. There is some significant chipping around the outer edge.
