Medieval button; cast lead alloy button of possible 14th or 15th century date. The button is a large, circular disc with moulded decoration on one face. The decoration is in the form of a central pellet surrounded by a circle. This circle has a line running from each side to the edge, forming a cross. There are then four curves, one in each interstice of the cross, which are joined to the cross by short lines about halfway along each arm of the cross.
