A cast lead pictorial token dating to the 14th century. On the obverse, a crudely stylised bird facing right with a border of rays (now fairly damaged around the edges). The reverse is plain and unmarked.
These lead issue tokens date to the reign of Edward III (1327-77 AD).
The token is in a poor condition with the edge broken in a number of places, therefore loosing most of the ray border.
A parallel for the token can be found in Mitchiner, 1984 with a provenance of London. This has also been dated to the 14th century (Plate 8, Ref 100).
