A white semi-opaque glass bead of Iron Age to Modern date (about 400 BC - AD 1900). It is globular and slightly asymmetrical. Measurements are; diameter 9.4mm, length 6.5mm and weight 0.75g.  The central hole has a diameter of 2.3mm. Owing to the lack of diagnostic features and contextual evidence it is very difficult to accurately date simple beads such as this example, because they were in use across a number of different periods.

A small, rounded, garnet bead, of unknown date, Roman - Post Medieval, AD 43 - 1900. It is an irregular, smooth, rounded shape and has a circular hole through it (about 1mm diameter) nearer to one end. The bead is 3mm long and 2.7mm in diameter. It weighs 0.1g. Garnets are frequently found on the Thames foreshore (LON-0C7DE2 for example) and another worked garnet bead is LON-0335F7, but they can seldom be dated without additional context.

A complete glass bead of uncertain date. The bead is circular in plan with a slightly off-central sub-circular perforation. The glass is a semi-translucent dark blue colour. The bead is 10.2mm in diameter, 4.9mm thick and weighs 0.5g. The perforation is 5.2mm in diameter. Glass beads are very difficult to date with any certainty. They are often thought to be Roman in date though blue glass beads were commonly for use in spangles on lace making bobbins in the 19th century. Due to a lack of contextual evidence and any diagnostic features it is not possible to date this object any …

A complete copper alloy bead of unknown period. The bead is sub-spherical or biconvex, measuring 13.6mm in diameter, 10.1mm thick (through the hole) and weighs 7.7g.  The hole is 2.8mm in diameter.  It has a patchy, rough brown - green surface, about half of which is of green corrosion products.  Much of the original surface is missing and so it is impossible to determine visually whether the bead surface carried any decoration.  A similar, but smaller, bead appears at record SWYOR-AA0195.  KENT-EC7838 is also similar.
