Description: A silver Roman denarius that has been incorporated into a finger ring as the bezel. The hoop is rectangular in cross-section, flaring at the shoulders with a longitudinal groove along the centre of the outer face of each shoulder. The outer end of each shoulder has been soldered to the reverse of the denarius. The whole object including the coin then appears to have been coated with white metal. A recessed rectangular panel is visible to one side of the inner face of the rear of the hoop and possible lettering can be seen here, but this is almost entirely covered by a fold…

A thin, incomplete, unidentified silver component. The item is semi-circular in plan, and retangular in cross section. It appears to be incomplete, with clean and linear break points on the two ends of the circular frame suggesting it has been cut, perhaps before it was intended to be melted down. On what is presumably the front facing surface of the component, there are two parrallel grooves which run along the circumference of the inside edge. The depth of the grooves is not uniform and at points the recesses are too faint to be visible. This may be the result of wear. The…

Silver disc. A small coin-sized disc – quite possibly a demonetised coin -  with both sides bearing  groups of parallel and individually incised lines, some lines and groups crossing others - possibly cross-hatched zones flank a plain central zone of lines running in one direction. This at least is the appearance of the outer side of a curled-up object; the inner surface appears similarly treated though lines become gouges here in a less tidy treatment. A detached chip was presented along with the main part of the object, though it does not entirely complete it. The pre…

A silver finger ring. The ring is sub-oval, slightly squashed in form, and formed from a single thin sheet of silver. The ring has decoration in the form of two thin incisions along part of its face. There is no hallmark, and the rest of the ring is plain.
