A complete lead alloy weight, possibly a steelyard weight, of Unknown date (c. AD 43-c. 1800). This weight is roughly cylinder shaped and is sub-circular in cross-section. The sides taper from the flat base towards the top where it is narrowed and flattened to form a suspension loop. The off-set circular hole has a diameter of 6.0mm. The body of the weight has a chop or cut mark, 20.8 mm in length with a maximum width of 3.1mm. The surface of the apex has six transverse cut marks. A central hole has parallel sides and is 5.0mm in diameter. This spindle whorl has a coarse surface and is greyish buff. Length: 19.4mm; width: 16.3mm; thickness: 7.2mm. Weight: 11.09g.
