An incomplete Roman to Post Medieval copper alloy owl. The object is flat, with the design of the head of an owl on both sides, making it unlikely to be a mount that would have been attached on one side. Broken at the 'neck'.

An incomplete, very corroded, fragment of a copper alloy handle of unknown date. The handle is curved and decorated with three raised grooves, and the majority of the surface is missing. Length: 21.42mm; width: 19.27mm; thickness: 4.21mm and weight: 6.39g.

The object has a granular, hackly texture Due to the undiagnostic nature of the find, it cannot be securely dated as being over 300 years old and as such would appear to fall outside the provisions of the Treasure Act 1996.
