Bronze Age to Post Medieval (c. 2350 BC to 17th century) awl: The awl has a tang which is rectangular in section and tapers to a blunt edge. The tang is over half of the awl. The other half is circular in section, is slightly swollen before tapering to a sharp point. Between the tang and awl there is a fine groove circumventing the awl. The surface has traces of a mottled brown-green patina. It measures 43.72mm long, 5.6mm diameter and weighs 3.81g. Treasure Number: 2016 T176 Period: Undiagnostic Description: Gold finger-ring. Dimensions: Diameter: 15mm - 24mm Width: 5mn Discussion: The ring was analysed by several specialists at the British Museum and it was found to be too undiagnostic. Chronologically it could not be attributed to the Bronze Age, Iron Age, Roman, Early Medieval, Medieval or Post-Medieval periods. Conclusion: Due to the undiagnostic nature of the find it cannot be securely dated to pre-1716 and as such falls outside the provisions of the Treasure Act 1996.

A complete copper alloy bead, of unknown dating (AD 43 to AD 1700). The bead is biconvex in shape, with a circular central perforation which is 4.98mm diameter. The exterior is undecorated. The bead has a dark green to mid brown colour. Abrasion, caused by movement whilst within the plough soil has occurred. The bead measures 13.82mm diameter, 9.02mm thick and weighs 3.9g. Simple copper alloy beads of this type are hard to date without accompanying contextual evidence or any diagnostic features and were used from the Iron Age through to the Post-Medieval period.

Roman to Post Medieval (1st to 19th century) unidentified object: The artefact is a large lead oval ball with a flattened upper and lower edge with multiple, equi-distant six circular iron studs around the side, one iron stud on one flat surface and two on the lower face. The iron is in a stable condition and the lead has a matte light grey/cream coloured surface. It measures 43.69mm diameter, 28.41mm thick and weighs 230g. The outer face has what appears to be moulded decoration in the form of a large sub-circular pellet with a possible trough around it. A cast copper alloy knife handle. The handle is a 'pistol grip' type, i.e. is oval in section and an elongated rectangle in plan which tapers towards the blade where there is two vertical collars. The opposite terminal expands in plan and is curved and slightly down turned. Treasure Case 2012 T338: Gold Droplet from Brailes, Warwickshire. Casting waste, comprising a complete amorphous droplet of gold or gold alloy. The droplet measures 14.77mm long, 8.37mm wide and 6.71mm thick, weighing 5.1g. Iron Age coins have been recovered from the same farm (Treasure Case 2012 T726), and it has been suggested that gold such as this may have been connected with Iron Age gold working, such as coin production or recycling. However, a similar piece (2004 T408) was determined to be undiagnostic and undatable following metal analysis.

Two fragments of a ceramic crucible. The fabric is a white ware with no obvious inclusions and is highly fired, but is still able to be scratched. The exterior appears to have fine linear grooves which may be decoration or part of the manufacturing process. On the interior of each sherd there is traces of a copper alloy adhered to it. The copper alloy has traces of red copper corrosion and has a 'bubbled' surface. The two sherds together weigh 5.5g. The date of the sherds are uncertain, but probably date to the Medieval or Post Medieval period.

Silver finger-ring, deformed to an oval and, presumably as a consequence of being squashed, cracked in one place. The band is decorated with two rows of punched, concentric double-crescents, some of them with a dot in the centre. The crescents are unevenly executed and worn away along the edge of the ring. It has proven impossible to find close parallels for either the ring or its decoration. The sprue has a irregular head which as an integral conical beneath, which vaguely resembles a stud. The head and stud elements have an uneven surface and abraded edges.
