Treasure reference 2017 T1058: an globule of solidified molten casting waste. The object is irregular in form and section with no identifying features. The surface isdull silver in colour with traces of copper corrosion. In the absence of metallurgical analysis it is unclear as to whether the metal is silver or another white metal such as tin. Conclusion Due to the undiagnostic nature of the find, it cannot be securely dated as being over 300 years old and as such would appear to fall outside the provisions of the Treasure Act 1996.
