A flint retouched flake, possibly used as a point or borer, probably dating from the later Neolithic to Middle Bronze Age, 3300 BC - 500 BC. It is formed on a tertiary blade of dark grey flint with some inclusions on the right hand side. It is a pointed oval shape with previous removal scars on the dorsal face. There is edge damage on the sides, as well as some longer removals at the proximal left corner and proximal end, which remove the striking platform, though the bulb of percussion is still clear. There is short abrupt scaled retouch round the point, though also possible damage. …

A complete lead weight of the Medieval or Post Medieval periods, about AD 1100-1800. The object is broadly conical though oval, with rough edges and surfaces. Off-centre is a sub-circular perforation that cuts through the length of the object. a hollow ring in the base suggests it was cast. It has a mottled grey and cream patina. Measurements; length 21.7mm, diameter 30.3mm, the diameter of perforation12.1mm, weight 61.01g. This mass corresponds to three ounces (3 oz or 1/4 mark) under the Troy system, but it is perhaps more likely that this object was used as a line weight or net sinker.

There are two striking platforms, at right angles to each other, producing blades or small flakes. The core is worked out. There are two areas of retouch, at opposite corners, which interrupt the patination, suggesting it was done later than the initial working. The retouch is short, abrupt and scale…

A cast, pear shaped lead weight or ingot of unknown date, probably Medieval to early Modern. It is flat on the underside and domed above. There is no decoration or piercing except for a deep, transverse slash, probably damage after deposition in the ground. The weight is 58.4mm long, 36.2mm wide and 20.4mm thick. It weighs 196g. This is equivalent to 6.91oz which seems to be too heavy for a 4 oz weight and too light for an 8 oz weight but is closest to the Roman septunx, which is 191.9g. It appears to have been cast in a spoon, and may simply be a convenient method of storing lead for…
