Circular amber bead of neat regular shape, a thick sub-oval in cross-section with a central hole drilled down the middle.
Amber beads are very difficult to date. They are reasonably common from Bronze Age to Early Medieval contexts, although a Roman date is perhaps the most likely in this instance.
