County: Cheshire East
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
An unidentified object of copper alloy, consisting of a spiral of wire that curls anticlockwise in two distinct, unequal sections before appearing to unravel. It is possible the object was once tightly curled but has been dismantled before deposition, or is possibly a component of a much larger object. Dating is difficult due to a lack of corrolary materials.

A conical, tapering lead object with a central iron part that is now only present as a rust shaped discolouration at the tip of the cone, probably the remains of a suspension point. The base of the object is flat with some small possible drill/adjustment holes and the sides are marked with numerous incisions, which are probably the result of plough and soil damage.

A cast copper-alloy possble linch pin or another type of fastener. The object has a rectangular shaft that ends in a circular flange that has a rough diameter of 9.8mm. The object is roughly made and has a green patina. The object is difficult to date because it does not have any clearly datable features. The rough nature of its manufacture and presence of corrosion suggest the object is historic. A comparable object is KENT-EB68B7

A cast sub-rectangular object, uniface with three raised areas on upper side these consist of a central raised conoid flanked by two smaller conoids each surrounded by a raised ring. The reverse of the object appears to have two diagonally points at which it was possibly mounted. Though the object is now concave when viewed from above, it is possible that it was originally flat.

An unidentified copper-alloy object, possibly part of a brooch or other decorative item. The object is roughly bar shaped, with a knop at one end and the other terminating in a fracture. The knop end appears to have a rotational hingepoint, possibly for the mounting of a pin. The opposite side of the object may have a projection or other ornamental detail that has since been crushed and corroded into unrecognisability.

The object has a flat base and an oval outline when viewed from above, the lead forming a ring around the glass. A brown substance is present underneath and around the glass, though whether this is an adhesive or a different lead corrosion product from the white powdery oxide of the rest of the surface is uncertain.
