A complete lead-alloy weight dating from the medieval to Post Medieval periods (1100-1800AD). The object is circular in plan and has been pierced which shows some signs of wear from being suspended. The back of the object is smooth but the upper surface appears to be decorated with randomly placed pellets. Although it is possible that this is just a result of the casting. It is unlikely that this was used as a spindle whorl since the off-set piercing would cause the spindle to spin unevenly. It is more likely to be some form of hanging weight, or net weight.
