Silver ingot fragment of likely 9th-10th century date.
Description: The fragment has been deliberately cut at both ends with a chisel or other sharp implement from a larger cast ingot of roughly trapezoidal section. The ingot has apparent indentations on the upper face and a groove on the lower face, but these appear to be accidental, and there are no apparent secondary test marks, as often found on bullion from the Viking Age. The cutting is typical of the deliberate fragmentation of ingots and other items into ‘hack-silver’ for use as currency within a bullion economy.

A cast and inscribed copper-alloy probable suspension mount possibly for a chatelaine or purse possibly probably dating to the 7th century.
Discussion: The mount is form from a triangular frame. Each bottom corner has a pierced rivet hole within slight lobes. Each of these rivets hole lobes has a collar between it and the upper arm of the frame. The upper point extends to a probable suspension point with an apex rivet hole.
