Description: The fragment has been deliberately cut at both ends with a chisel or other sharp implement from a larger cast ingot of roughly trapezoidal section. The ingot has apparent indentations on the upper face and a groove on the lower face, but these appear to be accidental, and there are no apparent secondary test marks, as often found on bullion from the Viking Age.
