A complete pair of copper-alloy tweezers possibly Roman in date, however a medieval date cannot be ruled out. The tweezers are made from a single sheet of copper alloy which has been folded over on itself at a defined loop to form a sprung end. The arms of the tweezers flare out gradually along the length (3.5mm at the loop end, 5mm at the tip); these have been bent out of alignment. The tweezers are rectangular in cross section. There is no decoration. The tweezers are 49.6mm in length, 0.9mm in thickness and weigh 3.43g. The tweezers can be compared with some illustrated in Crumm…
