Four amorphous lumps of copper alloy metal working debris, either casting waste or slag. One is possibly a casting jet as it is conical with a flattish oval base, it is very worn 70.52 grams. Two are very irregular with the bubbly structure typical of high temperature working, 90.49 and 45.99 grams. The larger piece is rough where air bubbles have been broken and worn leaving sharp edges. The last is a broken part of a flat piece where metal has cooled and solidified on a flat surface, 51.36 grams . Material such as this is undatable due to its undiagnosic nature but may indicate s…

Lump of solidified melted copper alloy material from of high temperature working. The lump has numerous solidified air bubbles suggesting it was brought to a full molten heat. However in less fully melted sections their appears to be the remains of circular copper alloy disks which were melted to create the lump. The designs on the disks are not clear. Most are only visible in the sides as the remains of stacks but a few could be measured and range from 13.8 to 11.2mm in diameter and are 1.0 to 1.2mm thick. The lump is 46.4mm by 32.7mm by 18.1mm and weighs 52.91 grams. It is clea…

Amorphous lump of copper alloy metal working debris, either casting waste or slag, showing a bubbly structure typical of high temperature working. 29.7mm long, 24.4mm wide, 7.9mm thick and 10.82 g in weight. Material such as this is undatable due to its undiagnosic nature but may indicate specialist metal working in the area at some point.

Two amorphous blobs of copper alloy with rounded shapes that suggest they are cooled runs of liquid metal. One is small, 5.78 grams, and has some glass like material indented in it. The other is 68.69 grams.

Mis-cast copper alloy item. The piece has a amorphous blob of solidified molton metal with a short cylindrical extension to one side. The cylinder has an old break at the end opposite the blob and a double incised line around the centre. The cylinder may be part of a miscast artefact such as a candlestick or it may be from an aperture where metal was poured into a mould. It is 32.6mm by 38.5mm and 13.7mm thick, the cylinder is 13.4mm in diameter and 15.4mm long. It weighs 35.74 grams.

Three amorphous blobs of copper alloy with rounded shapes that suggest they are cooled runs of liquid metal and two posslbe mis-cast pieces or other waste. Of the latter two one is a flat piece of copper alloy with one roughly right angle corner and the opposite edge bent up at c.70 degrees, 22.65grams. The other is a thicker flat piece with again one edge bent up through a curve to 70 degrees and the opposite edge turned down at a right angle, with an irregular break across it, c.19.44 grams. Both have many air bubbles in them, similar to the other casting waste. The other pieces we…
