A complete cast copper alloy hammer or possibly small anvil of unknown - probably post medieval, date. The body of the hammer comprises of a cylindrical shape which tapers at both ends - one into a wedge shape the opposite into a four sided point. The remains of an iron riod extends from one face and it is at this point that one egde is wide than the other. A direct paralell has not been found but given the method of manufacture and also the patina it is most likely to post medieval (1500-1800)

All edges are heavily eroded and abraded; they do not represent the original edges. The upper surface has a poorly preserved cast pattern comprising radiating elements between oval lentoid open loops. It has a deep green coloured surface patina. A direct parallel has not been found although it is highly likely that it is from the rim of a decorated metal dish - possibly a chafing dish of later medieval date (AD 1200 - 1600).

A small square shaped gold coloured possibly gold (and copper) alloyed piece of casting waste / manufacturing offcut from thick sheet / ingot of uncertain date. Large hand wrought iron nail with a large boss like square shaped head with a distinctive D shaped cross section. The shank of the nail is square and broken. The surface of the nail suffers from active laminating corrosion. A direct parallel has not been found, but the shear size suggests that it was not for domestic furniture, instead it is suggested that it might be an iron nail from a studded timber door, or possibly from a boat. A date is also difficult to suggest - it is possibly ancient but as it is hand made it could date from as late as 1900.

The stone is a very coarse sandstone which has weathered to a smooth mid prupleish brown colour. A fragment from a large lead alloy artefact of unknown date or purpose. The artefact is rectangular in plan and profile with a sitinct rectangular projection on the base of the reverse. The front face is decorated with a distinctive cast a pierced lattice work which is neat and well ordered - but achieved by hand. The front surface also has the remains of a black coloured surface. The reverse is plain and undecorated. The body is a mid grey colour with a well defined but abraded surface patina. Cast lead alloy weight of unknown date probably later medieval or modern - 1300-1800 AD. The weight is sub-circular in plan and D shaped in profile; in cross section it is an irregular rectangle. Through the centre is a sub-circular hole (5.9mm internal diameter). There is no sign of decoration and the weight is a mid grey colour with an even, but powdery corrosion. Similar weights have been dated to both the Roman and the medieval periods however it is most likely that this is of medieval date, probably for use as a net or line weight.

An unidentified incomplete cast copper alloy artefact of uncertain function and date although potentially of later Medieval or post medieval. The artefact is crescent shaped in plan and has a varied irregular section tapering from an oval to a rectangle. One end is broken. There is no decoration present and the surface is a pitted and corroded copper alloy. In form the artefact is similar to the prick elements on candle sticks but is proportionately smaller . A parallel has not been found.
The artefact measures 31.8mm length, 5.7mm width, is 5.7mm thick and weighs 4.0 grams

The artefact is case in one piece and incomplete being broken across the mid-point and surviving in two non-conjoining parts. In plan it is crescent shaped whilst profile it is rectangular. A cast lead alloy mount of uncertain date - most probably Medieval or post medieval (1100-1650). The artefact is incomplete and broken into three pieces, two of which conjoin. The mount is broadly triangular in plan and D shaped in cross section. The upper surface of the mount is decorated with a cast design in high relief depicting a standing figure with head bent to left, one arms raised across the chest and the other holding an object - probably a tablet or book. A n unidentified copper alloy artefact of uncertain date; the fragment is in the form of a cylindrical bar with spatulate terminal and a depression on either side whilst the stem has distinct groove along its length. The fragment is a mid brown green colour with a corroded surface patina. A direct parallel has not been found although a medieval date is favoured by the recorder based on condition and surface patina.
The fragment measures 27.8mm long, 6.1mm wide, and is 5.7mm thick and weighs 2.0 grams.
