Two pieces of debitage.
A) A tertiary flint blade. Probably early Neolithic due to the use of soft hammer technology. Weight 1.24g, length 22.6mm, maximum width 14.6mm, maximum thickness 4.1mm. The ventral face has a shallow bulb of percussion suggesting use of soft hammer production. The distal end of the ventral face terminates with a hinge fracture after which a deep 'V' shaped groove crosses the whole width of the blade at the centre of the distal end. The distal end adjacent to the dorsal face is irregular with further, though shallow, transverse grooves across the blade&…

Workflow stage: Published
A single piece of secondary flint debitage of unknown date, probably late Neolithic to Bronze Age. A striking platform and point of percussion are visibly present on this flake. The pronounced bulb of percussion and well defined conchoidal ripple marks indicate hard hammer production. The dorsal side has a pronounced concave recess at the proximal end indicating that a flake had been removed before this one.
Recortication has started on the striking platform, ventral and dorsal face. This recortication is present within the concave proximal zone on the dorsal side, and distal c. tw…

A hinge fractured waste flake. The hinge fracture is suggestive of weakness in the flint due to the presence of impurities. The edges have been bashed rather than showing signs of retouch or worked edges. Date is uncertain. Weight is 10.01g, dimensions: 50.70mm x 25.83mm x c.7.80mm.

A small struck piece of flint. This flint is light grey in colour and has a flat platform (maximum measurement 7.65mm) at one end and a shallow 'S' shaped profile. It is uncertain whether this is a waste flake from flint knapping or has been hit by modern mechanical diggers during earth moving on the site. This flint weighs 1.56g, has a thickness of 5.63mm, length 17.76mm and maximum width of 17.38mm.
