A probable copper-alloy Roman hair pin or furniture nail - the shaft is corroded and incomplete and tapers to a point, with only a corroded head remaining. The head is globular in shape, with no visible collar. The surface is pitted and uneven. It is similar to examples seen in Crummy, 1989, pg 115, fig116 - globular, bun-shaped heads.

Copper alloy finger ring fragment. Cast oval bezel and tapered D-section shoulders of a small finger ring. The bezel is flat with two circular recesses or cells, the position of which is marked by rounded protrusions on the back of the bezel. Both contain rust-coloured soil, one has reflective material in its base which may hint at a lost enamel. Suggested date: possibly Roman, 43-410

An incomplete a cast copper alloy Roman brooch of Colchester derivative, probably Harlow double-lugged type dating to the first century AD. The arms are hemi-cylindrical and enclose an iron spring held on an iron spindle with a chord held in a lug projecting from the centre. The mounting arrangment of the spring axis spindle is now concealed by rusted concretion. The bow is narrow and strongly arched, triangular in cross section and decorated with a ridge along the spine. The rest of the bow, the foot and the catchplate are missing.
