This coin is a contemporary copy belonging to a group of imitative base metal coins, typically sestertii, identified by B. Woytek as being a peculiarly Romano-British group copying types of Nerva and Trajan. This combination of types has not been seen within this group before (B. Woytek, pers. comm.).

This is the bridge built over the River Danube for Trajan's invasion of Dacia. It was designed by the architect Apollodorus.
