An incomplete possible Roman cast lead votive model or miniature object in the form of an axehead.
The handle is missing.
This object is sub-rectangular in plan, sub-rectangular in cross-section and sub-triangular or wedge-shaped in side view. In plan, it flares from the top to the cutting edge and has a swelling either side of the transverse perforation for the handle. The perforation is oval and measures 3.2mm in length and 1.9mm in width.
The object is grey with a coarse surface.

A complete possible Roman vessel lead repair pot mend (AD 43-409).
It consists of two integral sub-oval 'plugs' which enclosed pottery (now missing). One plug measures 12.7 x 8.6mm and the other plug measures 11.9 x 10.0mm.
Due to the absence of any ceramic material it is difficult to ascertain the date of the object. However, a tentative Roman date is offered considering other finds made in the vicinity.
This pot mend has a buff patina.

This undecorated object is sub-circular in plan, convex on the upper face and concave on the lower face. It has a central vertical perforation which has parallel sides and is 7.05mm in diameter.
It has a buff and brown patina.

Six cast lead vessel repair plugs (pot mends) of probable Roman date (AD 43-410).
These plugs are irregular and characteristically waisted. However, one (no. 6), appears not to have been used. No. 5 has a tiny fragment of pottery within the waist but is not possible to define the period of manufacture.
Overall weight: c. 245.0g.
Pot mends such as these were in use from the Roman to Medieval periods. These were found together with Roman material including ceramic building material, pottery, coins and other artefacts. Consequently, it is likely that they are Roman in date.

This weight is spheroid in form and has a slightly flattened base. There are the remains of an embedded iron suspension loop at the top.
Around the periphery there are inscribed marks: VIΛ with a saltire cross within a square to the left with two vertical linear grooves above.
Height: 41.8mm; diameter: 47.3mm. Weight: c. 546.0g.
The surface is largely off-white and powdery. Within crevices there are flecks of a brown patina.

A complete cast lead miniature axehead of possible Roman date.
It is sub-rectangular in plan and 'V'-shaped in side view. The blade is evenly curved and the butt end is slightly rounded. In side view there is a circular hole of 3.7mm diameter which is presumably for a handle.
For comparison, see finds: SF-BD6BA3, SF-4AB493 and SF-105BC3.

The weight is biconical in form and has the remains of a corroded iron suspension loop at the top. The top of the suspension loop has two breaks. The upper portion is slightly more pointed than the lower half which has a rounded base.
The surface his olds and scuff marks and it is covered overall with a grey buff patina. However, two scuff marks appear to be recent.

One face, presumably the outer surface, is flat and sub-oval in plan. The inner face is domed. Between the two faces a groove contains two fragments of pottery that are of the same fabric. The pottery has a black/dark grey outer and inner surface with a reddish core.
