Fragment, probably one third, of a possible Iron Age to Early Medieval copper alloy strap distributor. It would originally have been circular in plan (see reconstructed image), and is flat in section. There is ring and dot decoration on one face. Suggested date range c400 BC to c1066 AD. Other suggestions for object type include fob dangler, openwork disc brooch, and even Early Medieval continental sun disc. Length 52mm, width 41mm, thickness 4mm, weight 14.9g. Probable original diameter 54mm.

Fragment of a brooch, possibly a Roman T shaped example. The is a copper alloy piece which is triangular both in secton and in plan. On the widest part there are the remains of two lugs or other fitment, represented as short stubs. Through the widest sides at the bottoem are drilled two holes, and a shaft is inserted into these. Behind the centre of this the main body is hollow, and a pin is fitted here around the shaft. The whole has an even brown patina, no decoration is apparant Dimensions: 9mm wide and 25mm long including the pin. It weighs 1.76g

A fragment of a copper alloy brooch. It is comprised of two distinctive elements. A traingular section forms the largest part, and in a square moulded in recess are cells formed by three dimaond shapes. A series of horizontal ribs then finishes the bottom of this across the narrow section. There is then a diamond shaped section at the bottom, point downwards, with a circular cell in the centre of this. It is likey that these cells would have contained enamel. Roman copper alloy umbonate plate brooch. Dates to between AD c75-200. This brooch is sub-circular in plan with six evenly spaced projections/knops, three at each side. It is roughly 'D'-shaped in side view. At the front there is an angular conical boss with a nipple/knop at the centre. It is incomplete with only the remains of the circular looped terminal and part of the concave grinding surface extant.The grinding section is U shaped in cross section & when unbroken, the whole mortar would probably have been an arc or shallow crescent in profile. The surface of the depression has myriad small peaks consistent with a digit being put on and lifted off the metal before it fully cooled. Suggested date based on patina and colour in relation to other copper alloy artefacts from the area is c43 to c410 AD, though it could well be earlier or later.
