A fragment of a copper alloy and enamel probable Roman brooch. It is lozenge shaped with breaks around the edges suggesting that is was part of a larger object originally, probably a brooch. The outer faces has a raised cross dividing it into four lozenge shaped recesses. Two of these contain traces of yellow-green enamel and the others, traces of a light blue-green enamel. The reverse is undecorated and the lack of any means of attachment suggest that it may have formed the centre of a larger continental plate brooch with either an additional head and foot (c.f.
