An incomplete copper alloy Roman headstud brooch (AD c. 75 - c. 200).
The head of the brooch consists of two rectangular wings, decorated with two lozenges (one above the other) on each wing. The bow tapers in width tapering in an ancient break above the foot, and has a circular, ring-and-dot 'headstud' moulding at the apex of the bow. The recess between the central dot and the ring may have once held enamel. The bow of the brooch is decorated with a series of central lozenge shaped cells.
