The bow tapers and then terminates with a bulbous foot which forms a L-shape in profile, with two horizontal collars above. On the reverse of this portion of the bow there is a complete catchplate. The surface of the brooch has an abraded patina. The brooch measures 13.69mm in length, 4.39mm in width across the upper edge and weighs 1.16g. The brooch is a Colchester derivative. It probably dates to the mid-1st to second centuries.
