A copper alloy incomplete Roman trumpet brooch dating from AD 75 - 175. Only the lower bow survives. There is a double collar above and below the acanthus moulding of three petals above and three below the central disc. The moulding does not continue on ot the back of the bow. The lower bow is triangular in cross-section and the catchplate curls to the left when viewed head uppermost from the reverse. The foot is discoidal with a triple moulding. The brooch is 41.1mm long, 9.1mm wide and 12.4mm thick. 4.9g.
