An incomplete Roman copper alloy developed T-shaped brooch dating to the period c. AD 50-100 AD. The brooch comprises the head, wings, bow and catchplate, the pin is missing.
The brooch head has two cylindrical wings with open ends, decorated with a series of vertical incised grooves. One wing is complete, but the other ends in an old break. The wings housed the axis bar for the hinged pin mechanism, and there is a stub of the pin is still attached. There is what appears to be iron corrosion product on the rear of the wings and head, possibly from an iron axis bar.
