~~Roman copper alloy trumpet brooch that has an oval head plate. On the reverse is a single pierced lug that holds the spring which is now missing. The bow emanates from the front of the head plate; this is flanked on the head plate by two circular recessed cells that would have held stones or enamel. The front of the bow is decorated with a triple band on the top and a double curving band to either side that terminate at a ring, below is a moulded knee at the apex; the lower leg of the bow is decorated with a curvilinear pattern that s now obscured by corrosion.
