A late Roman copper-alloy nail cleaner strap end, dating to c.AD 300 - 400. It consists of a cylindral phallus and flattened leaf shaped blade, a suspension loop is in the centre. The phallic end consists of an elongated cylindrical shaft that terminates in a flattened oval tip. In the centre of the nail cleaner is a flattened semi-circular knop, a testicle sits either side of the loop. The blade of the cleaner is 'leaf' shaped, widening just below the shoulders, then narrowing to two-pronged tip. A longitudinal groove runs down the centre of the front face.
