Cast copper alloy brooch of Headstud type. Bow decorated with a row of rectangular recesses inlaid with enamel, the colour of which is now difficult to see but it may have been red, orange or pale green. Disc-like terminal on foot separated from the bow by three circumferential mouldings. At the head end of the bow is a disc-shaped stud on the top of which is an annular groove. Each of the wings is marked with three deep grooves.Coil type spring with three coils on one side, four on the other. Oddly the actual pin is of the hinged, self tensioned type and may be a replacement.
