Roman plate brooch, c. AD120-200. Cast copper alloy with some traces of red enamel. Disc shaped with concentric decoration consisting of a central setting within a boss. This is surrounded by a circumferencial groove which in turn is set within a band containing a row of pellets. On the edge of the plate are two D shaped projections containing ring and dot decoration. Beneath these are the pin fittings. The brooch has a thin section which has been broken through in the area of the groove. Length 37.5mm, Width 29.8mm, Thickness 3.0mm, Mass 7.57g.

Roman brooch of Headstud type, AD100-200. trapezoid sectioned bow with a groove down its length, cylindrical terminal with a circumferential triple moulding and a recessed face containing a central boss. . Oval headstud also containing a central boss. Below this is a rectangular lug. Wings marked by transverse grooves, through them runs a longitudinal bar that secured the hinged pin (missing). The brooch has undergone some recent damage. Length 40.0mm, Width 20.4mm, Height 18.3mm, Mass 11.09g.
