An incomplete Roman copper alloy Colchester derivative developed T-shaped hinged brooch, dating to c. AD 70-150. The surviving fragment comprises of the head and upper bow, with part of the wings, lower bow and pin all missing. At the head of the bow the wings survive to a width of 33.2mm, the left wing being incomplete. The wings are cylindrical, c.5.1mm in diameter, and hold the partial remains of a copper alloy axis bar in situ. An incomplete, highly abraded, copper alloy hinged Roman trumpet derivative, Developed T-shaped brooch, probably a dating to c. AD 75 - 150. Only the head, upper bow and wing casing survive, with the lower bow, pin and catchplate all missing. At the head of the brooch the wings survive to a width of 17.0mm, these are cylindrical and are entirely hidden when viewed from the front by a sub-triangular head-plate. An incomplete Iron Age or Roman glass melon bead, probably dating to c. AD 1-200. The surviving fragment is of a dark blue glass and comprises of roughly one third of the bead. The cross section of the bead is D-shaped, and in profile it is sub-rectangular, with rounded ends, originally, the bead was probably sub-circular in plan. The bead also had a central, circular perforation, the sides of which are smooth. The brooch consists of a thick, c. 3.6mm, plate in the form of an inverted S, 45.5mm long and 28.1mm wide, decorated with enamel and possibly coral inlays. Probably dating to c. AD 1-200. A highly abraded fragment of a Roman copper alloy colchester derivative brooch of uncertain type, probably dating to c. AD 43-150. The fragment comprises of the lower bow and catchplate, the latter being incomplete, with the upper bow, pin and head all missing. The bow terminates in a worn break at the top, with probably c. 60-70% of the bow surviving. At the break the bow is 7.2mm wide, but does not survive to its original width, slightly below this point, where the width is at its most complete, the bow is 7.3mm wide. The brooch has been treated extensively obscuring surface detail, but appears to have been very abraded, although largely complete.
