An incomplete Iron Age to Roman copper alloy applied hook brooch, probably a variant of Mackreth's type 1.b. or 1.c., probably dating to c. AD 25-100. The brooch now comprises of the bow only, with the head, pin and catchplate lost to old breaks. At the head of the brooch the bow survives to a width of 19.1mm and a thickness of 15.7mm, sub-rectangular in cross section. The reverse of the head features a short, transversely aligned rectangular projection. The nature of the pin mechanism is thus atypical and unclear. A Roman copper alloy hinged Colchester derivative intial T-shaped brooch, probably dating to c. AD 50-100. The brooch survives largely complete, missing its pin and with its right wing damaged. The head of the brooch survives to a width of 29.5mm, with the right wing truncated by an old break; these are cylindrical and retain an iron axis bar in situ. A Late Iron Age to Early Roman Iron early hinged brooch, probably dating to AD 25-70. The surviving fragment comprises of the upper bow, head and partial pin, the lower bow being lost to a corroded break. The head of the brooch survives to a width of 17.8mm, with cylindrical wings retaining an iron axis bar in situ. A hinged iron pin projects from the reverse of the head, sub-rectangular in cross section and truncated by a fresh break. A Copper alloy ferrule of uncertain date, probably dating to the Later Iron Age or Early Roman Periods, c. 200 BC - AD 200. The ferrule consists of a roughly parallel sided strip of copper alloy, curved around into a ring with overlapping ends, both of which are perforated and held together by a separate copper alloy rivet.
