An incomplete cast copper-alloy brooch dating to the Roman period, c. AD 43-100. This example is of the Colchester Derivative type, double-lugged subtype. The lower bow, pin and catchplate are missing in old breaks but otherwise the brooch is preserved intact. It has a hemi-spherically sectioned winged head with a projecting double-lug at its midpoint demonstrating two adjacent circular apertures-through which the axis bar and spring are still largely threaded. A very worn and abraded cast copper-alloy fragment originating from a brooch of Hod Hill type, dating c. 43-75 AD. Only the lower bow and foot remain, being broadly triangular in plan and tapering along its length. Two pairs of double transverse mouldings are visible, one at the midpoint of the fragment and one at the foot. On its reverse face, the remains of the projecting catchplate are visible. Preserved in poor condition with a coarse brownish patina, it survives to a length of 32.56mm, 9.73mm wide by 3.02mm thick at its midpoint, and weighs 3.52g.

A worn and incomplete cast copper-alloy Colchester Derivative type bow brooch dating to the Roman period, c. 43-100 AD. Only a portion of the head and upper bow survive, the remainder of the object missing in old damage. The head is winged, though most of the wings themselves are missing. At its midpoint on the back of the brooch is the apparent remains of a rearward-facing hook. The bow is plain and 'D' shaped in section, curving in profile before truncating in old damage. The lower section and point of a possible pin shank or awl probably dating from the Roman to Medieval periods, c. 43-1500 AD. It is circular in section, tapering to a sharp point. Preserved in fair condition with an even green patina, it survives to a length of 38.24mm, 3.26mm thick at its truncated upper edge, and weighs 2.22g.
