An incomplete wheel-thrown ceramic fragment originating from a vessel of uncertain form (possibly a bowl) of Samian, ware, c. 43-250 AD. The sherd consists the upper shoulder of the original vessel, with the rim above broken away alongside the lower shoulder and body. It demonstrates a pinkish inner fabric, covered with a reddish orange slip. Mould-formed decoration is visible on the outer face of the sherd, which takes the form of a prominent collar underneath which is a parallel series of raised chevron motifs. Preserved in fair condition with some modern breaks, it measures 16.87mm…

An incomplete cast copper-alloy zoomorphic buckle of late Roman date, c. 350-425 AD. It would originally have been broadly kidney-shaped in plan and plano-convex in section, formed of two zoomorphic serpent-like creatures joined at the mouth (forming a recessed pin rest) while the bodies and tails of the animals curved back around on themselves before being joined by a strap-bar at the back edge of the frame.
