The bezel comprises a moulded lenticular bezel 23.5mm long and 14mm wide with a central oval recess 12.5mm long and 9.5mm wide containing traces of a degraded grey substance possibly adhesive. It is engraved with a male figure, possibly Mars Gradivus, helmeted, advancing left (as seen on the gem), carrying a trophy over one shoulder and a spear across the body. The gem sits flush with the bezel which tapers on either side into rounded shoulders and then on into a D-sectioned loop with very slight faceting along the edges.
