Incomplete Roman Colchester derivative rearhook brooch dating to the period c. AD 43 - 65. The C-shaped wings are now stubs terminating in breaks. The sprung pin mechanism is missing. A scar at the top of the head indicates the position of the missing rearhook. The bow arches from the head and tapers to an old break. It exhibits two parallel longitudinal ridges running down the centre of the bow, with a ridge running down each long edge.
