An incomplete copper alloy Brooch of Roman date (AD 130-360). The object is a Colchester derivative, Polden Hill type, of Mackreth 2011, Chapter 3, Part 3. Group 4i. The object is composed of semi-cylindrical wings with outer raised collared ends with a short spur which would have formed a rear-hook at the top of the head. The spring, pin and axis bar are missing. The bowhead is hump-like in profile. The body tapers to an abraded break resulting in the loss of the foot and catchplate.
