An incomplete copper alloy, oval, disc plate brooch of Roman date (AD 150-250). The brooch is flat and oval in plan, it is decorated with a central oval cell with a surrounding inner raised similar oval rim. Around the inner raised border are repeating transverse lines creating a beaded boarder between. The reverse is flat and undecorated, the integrally cast hinge is present, formed from a single pierced lug, on the opposing side of the brooch to the hinge is the remains of the catch plate.
