A complete copper alloy Strap Slide or Loop of Roman date (AD 43-200). The object iscomposed of a circular convex plate with a spherical knop in the centre and stepped circular border. There are four flat semi-circular projecting knops on the outside edge. On the reverse is a rectangular loop. The back of the plate is steeply concave and undecorated.
The metal is a dark brown in colour with a pitted patina.
