A copper alloy, strap end, possibly Late Roman or Early Medieval in date, AD.350-500. The object comprises a tapering copper alloy plate. It has a rounded tip and a longitudinal ridge on the front face which gives the object a triangular cross section. The top of the object is bifurcated and forms two projecting rounded arms. Through each arm is a small iron rivet, both rivets have corroded away and filled the rivet holes with mineralised iron deposits.
