One fragment of ceramic building material, probably from a box flue tile, of Roman date. The fragments is irregular in plan, broken and abraded on all sides including the inner face. There are combed patterns on the outer face, at least four parallel grooves in one direction with at least three running obliquely to meet them. The fragment has a dark orange fabric with abundent fine sand temper and very occasional small calcereous inclusions up to 1mm and angular orange, probably grog, inclusions up to 2mm. It weighs 14g.

Description: The hoard consists of two silver denarii of the second century AD. The first coin is a denarius of Trajan, dating to AD 103-111. There are some irregularities caused by wear in the perimeter of this coin and its faces are worn, but there is no major damage. The second is a denarius of Antoninus Pius dating to AD 140-143. This coin has a small chip at the 6 o'clock position and is slightly worn but is otherwise undamaged.

Roman coper alloy hinged knee brooch, broken in two pieces and missing its pin, dating from the mid 2nd to mid 3rd century. The brooch has a curved cylindrical head, now 23.4mm wide, one wing of which appears almost complete and tapers towards to squared off end, the other is worn and broken. The end of the copper alloy hinge for the pin is visible in the end. The other wing is broken with an old break. Roman cast copper-alloy key. The key has a circular bow, cylindrical shank and a bit which is perpendicular to the bow. Starting at the bow end, the bow is D-shaped in section with a flat inner side. It is plain apart from the sections adjacent to the shank which are slightly widened and cusped on each face with concave indents leaving a ridge down the centre of the outer side.
