A Roman (AD 43-410) copper alloy miniature object in the form of an Iron Age or Romano British axe-hammer, with a worn cutting edge. Measures 23.02mm in length, 12.85mm in max.width, 4.91mm in max thickness (socket end) and weighs 4.44g. The solid 'socket' end is rectangular in shape (6.97x4.94mm), the cutting edge is 9.46mm wide.
The object is rectangular in cross-section and triangular in profile, narrowing from the 'socket' end to the cutting edge. The blade droops slightly, similar to Robinson's type III miniature axehead, but does not have a side loop. Instead there are square-…

An incomplete Roman (AD 43-150) copper alloy cavalry strap terminal, with a worn break at one end and remains of both silvering and niello decoration. Measures 53.65x14.77x11.69mm and weighs 15.53g.
The fitting comprises a flattish plate from one end of which a ledge extends to the reverse. At the centre of this is the worn stump of an integral attachment spike, while a collared and rounded knop extends below (10.98mm in diameter and 7.52mm tall).

Incomplete copper alloy enamelled Roman (AD 50-150) T-shape brooch with hinge-mechanism, Hull's Type 111, missing its pin, most of the catchplate and part of the head-loop. It measures 57.17mm in length and weighs 11.09g.
The tubular wingspan is 23.97mm and has a vertical plate c.5mm high to the front, decorated with a transverse groove flanking each end. To the reverse, especially around the pin slot, there is much iron corrosion. Above the pin slot rises the projecting loop, 5.38mm in diameter (internal 3.38mm).

An incomplete cast, enamelled and possibly tinned disc brooch of Roman date (AD 80 - 250), missing some of the enamel decoration, the spring and pin and the curl of the catchplate. The brooch measures 20.20mm in diameter, is 5.18mm in max. depth and weighs 2.48g.
The brooch is flat (1.55mm thick) and circular and decorated with a six-pointed star around a single copper alloy pellet. At each star point is a copper alloy pellet. The area between the star and the outside edge (flanked by a c.0.7mm wide copper alloy border) carries remains of now-green enamel. Only 1/6 remains. The area …

An incomplete Roman (AD 75 - 175) copper alloy brooch of Colchester derivative, Polden Hill type (Mackreth Part 3, Group 4, flat wing ends), cf. Mackreth 2011, 4.d. Plate 47. It is missing its spring mechanism and pin, and the curl of the catchplate. It measures 51.06mm in length and weighs 10.39g.

A complete Roman (AD 43--255) copper alloy Colchester Derivative, Harlow Mackreth 2011, 2.c. brooch with spring mechanism, the chord of which is broken (but complete). The brooch measures 43.92mm in length and weighs 12.27g.
The wings are C-shaped in cross-section (with a hollowed area for the spring) and span 23.68mm. They are decorated to the front with a single transverse groove flanking each end. Behind is a nine-coil spring, pin, axis bar and chord passing through a double-pierced lug. The lug has a 2mm wide transverse groove to the reverse.

An incomplete copper-alloy Roman vessel lid handle (probably), in the shape of a small bird, most likely a duck. It is missing most of its integral rivet, by which means it would have attached to the vessel lid. There is also some damage at the end of the beak and on the underside edge around the breast and tail. Measures 23.42mm in length, 11.21mm in width and 15.22mm in height. Weighs 8.5g.

An incomplete Initial T-shaped brooch with hinge mechanism, missing the pin-shank and the curl of the catchplate. The brooch measures 60.81mm in length and weighs 4.7g.
The tubular wing span is 21.35mm and c.3-4mm in diameter. They are apparently plain with just a diagonal moulding at the juncture with the bow. One open end has a white substance within it, the other has iron corrosion. To the reverse the head of the pin is bent to one side of the pin slot.

An incomplete Roman copper-alloy gilded and tinned (or silvered) oval plate brooch (AD 200-350) of Hattatt's 'Centre-boss' type, missing the glass setting from the centre and possibly part of the pin.
The central oval cell for the missing setting has walls c.2.7mm high and rather damaged and squashed in places. The dimensions are 18.81x13.39x3.51mm and traces of a pale corrosion or fixant are visible around the edges.
