A copper-alloy Roman hair pin of Cool Group 5 (Cool 1990: 157, fig 4.5). The pin is circular in section, the shaft tapering from top to bottom. The head is formed of a wider section divided into two groups. The lower section consists of four bands of unequal size, each divided by a groove. This tapers upwards to another band with groove above and a dome-shaped top. The shaft is straight, with a small bend towards the tip although the original end of the pin appears to be missing. The pin is 98mm in length, 5mm at its widest point and weights 3.74.

A complete Roman seal box of Andrews 2009 'acorn' type P4 dating to the second half of the first century to the second century. The box is acorn shaped and hinged at the rounded end. The lid is decorated with a raised crescent shape, with enamel filling. A small lug can be seen on either side of the lid at the apex. The base of the box has three holes each enclosed by a annulet/ring, placed in a triangular design (two at the rounded end, one at the apex).
