Roman copper-alloy antoninianus, Carausius (AD 287-93), dia: 20mm, weight: 4.37g, C mint. The edge of the flan is slightly chipped in places but otherwise remains in good condition. A complete Roman seal box of Andrews 2009 'acorn' type P4 dating to the second half of the first century to the second century. The box is acorn shaped and hinged at the rounded end. The lid is decorated with a raised crescent shape, with enamel filling. A small lug can be seen on either side of the lid at the apex. The base of the box has three holes each enclosed by a annulet/ring, placed in a triangular design (two at the rounded end, one at the apex).
