A probable Roman iron hob nail. It has a plano-convex head with sub-triangular cross-section. From the base of the head an integral shank emerges at its centre. The shank has a rectangular cross-section and is bent to one side.

A fragment from the attachment end of a copper-alloy late Roman artefact known as a 'nail-cleaner strap-end'; it could have been either or both. The fragment tapers from a flat attachment end to a waist with a pair of out-turned crescentic lugs back-to-back. This trapezoidal terminal is bevelled along its long edges on its front; bevelling continues around the lugs and beyond. The object has been broken directly below the lugs following old damage. A faceted Late Roman copper-alloy octagonal bead. The bead is octagonal in cross-section, expanding toward the centre and narrowing toward the ends. It has a fairly even grey-green patina.
